| February 2012 Management Team Report Providing a report on the past month’s activities against the 8 key objectives of the organisation
Improvement of the lives of older adults:
- Jayne Hancock, Older People’s Projects Manager, is continuing to escort clients on visits to hospital, dentist, doctors and podiatry clinic.
- The Lowedges Swim Bus which runs every Monday afternoon to Graves Leisure Centre has 6 clients attending.
- The number of clients attending the Gleadless Valley Swim Bus which runs every Wednesday morning to Heeley Swimming Baths has fallen slightly to 5 people attending. This activity will be re-advertised in the next issue of the Gleadless Valley News.
- The Thursday morning session of Chairobics at Newfield Green is going very well and is still popular with 25 clients attending.
- The number of clients attending the Wednesday morning chairobics session at Handbank sheltered accommodation has risen slightly to 8.
- Jayne Hancock is continuing to co-ordinate and support the Valley Lunch Club. There are 26 clients attending this session on a weekly basis.
- Jayne has had 4 new referrals this month and is continuing with one-to-one support on a weekly basis.
- Jayne has also been busy setting up a Coffee Morning/ drop-in which will take place at the One 4 All Community Hub on the 12th March.
- Jayne has been busy recruiting volunteers to help out with the new Befriending Service which will start up in March.
- Work has begun on the Intergenerational Gardening Project at the One 4 All Centre. Grace Radford has been helping volunteers to hollow out a patch of the garden to replace with some raised beds. Local food growing will be a priority for this project.
