| February 2012 Management Team Report Providing a report on the past month’s activities against the 8 key objectives of the organisation
Being an effective and active community forum:
- New Business and Community Activity coordinator, Caroline Bunting, started work at the beginning of February.
- The forum manager has taken on the role of Lead Contact for the Gleadless Valley Ward’s Community First pot of money, a small grants pot from Central government. Community Assembly staff are handling promotion and advertising. The first meeting of the Panel to look at submitted applications will be early March 2012.
- The forum manager and Karen Harrison, HCP lead, will meet to discuss HCP priorities for 2012-13 in coming weeks. It is likely that priorities will be similar to those identified last year – older people; young people and sexual health; general health information
- The Forum will be working in partnership with Sheffield NHS to host a Health Trainer for the Gleadless Valley Community. Recruitment is likely to take place later in 2012.
- Funding at the Forum – we were successful in our bid to secure £5000 to replace the frontage of 181 Blackstock Road from the council’s Climate Change Fund. Work will begin imminently.
- The redevelopment of 181 Blackstock Road as a new community venue is well underway. Due for completion at end of Feb. The launch of the venue is due for 15th March. This is being handled by SCC staff.
- Usage of One 4 All Community Hub continues to expand. It is now occupied every evening and 50% during the day. Enquiries have been received from Valley Park Children’s centre, SOAR and Young Carers.
