| Do you know an older person in Gleadless Valley who may need some support? The Older People's Services project helps local older people by:
- Supporting older people to access the services, resources and facilities they need to maintain their independence and quality of life.
- Promoting health, diet and exercise to reduce health inequalities.
- Empowering older people to make choices.
- Focusing on those who are vulnerable in order to prevent hospital admission and reduce pressure on health services.
- Working with local groups and organisations to help develop more activities, lunch clubs, day trips and exercise classes.

With thanks to Dr Chai Patel for his generous donation documented in the Channel 4's Secret Millionaire programme. If you didn't see the show on 13th November 2011, or would like to see it again, it can be viewed here. The money enabled us to buy a new minibus and employ a new member of staff, Grace Radford, to increase the support and number of activities we can deliver for older people in the community.
